SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES
December 13, 2004
PRESENT: Ed LeBlanc, Keith Harris, Jim Trask, Chris L’Heureux,
ABSENT: None
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Ted Poirier,
Selectman Ed LeBlanc declared the meeting open at 19:00

OLD BUSINESS:
1. Ed spoke with Maxine Pouravelis (Town Attorney) re the Schools situation with Gerard Plumbing. Ed reviewed the whole case with her. Maxine recommended that we get everything documented now while things are fresh in everyone’s mind. She will send us out documentation on a list of things she recommends that we get ready for a possible suit. She also stated that is would cost about $5,000 to represent this case, and by the information given to her she believes she can win the case.
2. Bill Thompson left a message that the Assessors Board has gone over the Résumé’s for the Part Time position and ranked them they would like to schedule interviews on December 23, 2004 and schedule ½ hour interviews with each person. Chris will call and make appointment times with the applicants.
3. Jim Roberts is still looking for someone to shovel the walkways. He took care of the last storm and will take care of it till he finds someone.
~NEW BUSINESS:
1. Skip Cushman wants the Selectmen to talk to the Snowplowing Contractor for the School to have them open up a bigger area behind the School on the last storm they just made a couple of passes wide enough to just get a fire truck back there. Skip would like to see this area bigger due to it being used by students on a daily basis. Ed gave Paul Poirier Skip’s number and he will call to find out how he wants it.
2. Skip Cushman also wanted the Selectmen to speak with the Snow Plow Contractor about getting some straight salt for the School’s walkways. Ed talked with Paul Poirier and they will get a 55 gallon drum of salt for them. Jim Trask will find out where they want it.
3. Bill Thompson left a note re: recycling bins at the transfer station were full at the start of business Saturday. He stated he felt that this was not a good practice and now he has a car full of recyclables. He would like this issue addressed. Keith Harris will call Blow Bros and take care of this.
4. Ed LeBlanc stated that there has been an offer on the Evan Mclaughlin land and that the potential buyer Shelia Dube thought that the Town had a quick claim deed on the property. Ed stated that he is unsure on the status if the quick claim deed and our legal rights when it is issued. Keith stated that this would be something for the Town Attorney to look into and advise us.
