05-05-2009 Public Hearing
Dayton Planning Board
Public Hearing
May 5, 2009
Members Present: Dick Hall, Remi Caron, Theresa Greeley-Payeur, Dan Plourde, Valerie Cole (Alt.)
Others Present: Jim Roberts (CEO), John Gay, John Parker
Dick Hall started the public hearing at 7:03 PM.
Dick explained that the proposed Floodplain Management ordinance changes are state-mandated.
Jim Roberts explained that town residents had voted on changes last year, but when they were reviewed by the State, some language was missing. The changes are minor but if not corrected the Town won't be reimbursed by the State in the event of a flood. To get in the flood insurance program the Town is required to have this language. Although the Town had voted on changes last year the State did not accept them.
Very few changes are in the proposal; they deal mainly with heights and vertical distances and how things are measured.
Dick asked if there are any further comments; there were none.
Jim noted that these proposed changes are posted on the Town web site and will be voted on at Town Meeting on June 5th, 2009
Dick closed the public hearing at 7:08 PM.
