SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

June 19, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Angela Cushman, Jim Roberts, Jim Trask

ABSENT:  

OTHERS PRESENT: Craig & Becky Frappier, Jane Preston, Fire Chief Normand Bilodaeu, Nancy Harriman

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:                                     

OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Jim Trask spoke with Brad Paul Saco and he stated that they will be getting PSAP for a $1from Biddeford.  Jim Trask will be speaking with Chief Roger Beaupre to have Dayton picked up for a $1.

2.      Keith Harris gave an update of the ball fields behind the Town Hall.  Approximately 5 acres will be used for ball fields. 

3.      Ted Poirier has invited David Ordway, of Smith & Elliot, to be at the next Selectmen’s meeting 7 pm to discuss representing the Town as an attorney.

 

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Craig Frappier came in to discuss problems with parking at the Boat Launch.  The process will be for Craig to contact one of the Selectmen first with license numbers and then if no one available, Craig has authority to call Ray’s Trucking.  Ed LeBlanc will contact Ray’s Trucking to ask about a back up for busy weekends.

2.      Jane Preston came in to discuss the drop off that was created into her daughter’s driveway from the paving on the Hollis/Dyer Roads.  Ed LeBlanc with follow up with Dayton Sand & Gravel.

3.      Fire Chief Norman Bilodeau came in to notify the Selectmen that he will be resigning as of July 5, 2006.  Serving as Chief until January 2007 will be Karen M. Gagnon.

4.      Sexual Harrassment Training for the Town Office will be held June 26th at 8:30pm.

5.      Ed LeBlanc made a motion to elect Ted Poirier as the chair; 2nd by Jim Trask.

6.      Mike Knight, from the Headstart program, contacted Skip Cushman regarding finding a new location as the Cousens School is closing down.  The small portable was discussed as a potential possibility.  Jim Trask will follow up with Skip Cushman and Connie Lambert.

7.      Jim Trask will check out abatement letter.
