SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

January 09, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Jim Trask, Chris L’Heureux,

ABSENT: Ed LeBlanc

OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Mike Souliere, Bill Thompson,

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

 ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE

APPOINTMENTS:  1. None.

 OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Jim Trask stated that the new GA applications should be in he will be checking with Virginia on this. He has all GA cases up to date at this point.

2.      There has been no real update on the Schavi situation yet the lawyers are still working on it.

 

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Motion by Ted Poirier 2nd by Jim Trask to have Millie Tuttle be the town’s representative to the Eleven Towns Group. Passed 2/0

2.      Jim Roberts was asked to get job descriptions for all town positions from Maine Municipal Association so we can alter them to our Town so we can have current job descriptions for our employee’s and elected officials.

3.       Ted Poirier will be contacting the State re what is the status of the Town’s reimbursement on the Salt shed, he will keep us posted.

4.      There have been some complaints re the plowing and sanding of the Town Halls pathways and handicap ramp. The problem seems to lie when the snow storm falls when school is open and the kids that shovel and sand are at school. Jim Trask stated that he will make sure he keeps the pathways clean during these times.

5.      Ted Poirier requested that he receives a written report from the road commissioner on what has been done for work for the 1st half of the year so the selectmen can look at it and see how things are looking; Mike stated that he would get that for the selectmen next week. Then he will do quarterly reports for the Selectmen.

6.      Bill Thompson has requested that the town have an annual hazardous waste clean up. He was told that there is a new state law going into effect this month and that the town is looking into setting this up. It will be announced in the future.
