SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

April 10, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Jim Trask, Ed Leblanc, Chris L’Heureux,

ABSENT: None

OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Angela Cushman, Lance Lavoie, Steve Morse, Keith Harris

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

 ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE

APPOINTMENTS:  1. None

                                  

 OLD BUSINESS:

1.       Background Checks:  Jim Trask spoke with the Insurance company reference: Criminal Background Checks. Can be done through the State of Maine web page Sex Offenders Registry, just needs to be added to volunteer sign up sheet to agree to background check.  Needs to be done for all volunteers and employees.  Jim Trask will be responsible for completing all background checks.  Jim Trask will be revising the volunteer sign up sheet to give to Recreation Department and bring in next for a vote.

 

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.       Keith Harris came in to propose checking into developing some of the Town land for an athletic field.  Selectmen asked Keith Harris, Steve Morse and Lance Lavoie to come up with a proposal next Monday, April 17th.

2.      A request was received to paint the speed limit of Rt 35 on the pavement near the Mill Pond Bridge at no cost to the Town.  Ted Poirier made a motion to allow this gentlemen to paint the speed limit of Rt 35 near the Mill Pond Bridge; 2nd by Ed LeBlanc Passed 3/0.

3.      York County Fish & Game is cutting timber and asking permission to travel across Mast Rd in excess of the 25 ton limit. Ed LeBlanc made a motion to allow this: 2nd by Jim Trask.  Passed 3/0.

4.      Jim Roberts proposed getting Virtual Town Hall website email addresses for each department and town hall positions. Ed LeBlanc made a motion to accept Jim Roberts proposal; 2nd by Jim Trask. Passed 3/0.

5.      Received a $50 request to reimburse for property damage to lawn from Larry Jensen.  Ed LeBlanc made a motion to not reimburse this request; 2nd by Ted Poirier.  Passed 3/0.  Angela Cushman to compose a letter for Selectmen review.

6.      Received a form from the State to note CEO and LPI.  Form was filled with CEO and LPI and sent back to State Planning Office.

7.      Discuss was held re: Patriots Day.  Selectmen decided to hold their regular meeting at 7pm.  Town Offices will be closed.
