SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

March 13, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Jim Trask, Ed Leblanc, Chris L’Heureux,

ABSENT: None

OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Chris Boisse,

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

 ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE

APPOINTMENTS:  None

WORKSHOP MEETING:  Selectmen attended a joint Budget Workshop with the Budget Committee and School Board.       =                                           Meeting went from 18:00 to 19:00.                                   

 OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Discussion was held re the proposed moratorium on dwelling units in the area of the gravel pits, the town wants to change the land use in this area to a commercial zone only, Maxine Pouravelis drafted the moratorium ordinance, and Selectmen discussed this at length. Motion was made by Ed LeBlanc 2nd by Ted Poirier to table this to next week; the Selectmen have questions for Maxine Pouravelis. Passed 3/0  Ed will contact Maxine Pouravelis (attached is the proposed moratorium ordinance drafted by the Town Attorney)

2.      Jim Roberts stated that he has received the training dvd for Sexual Harassment, Jim Roberts and Michelle Boisjoly has watched it and have signed the form that they have been watched the video.

 

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.        Chris Boisse was in to discuss the Dyer Road and Hollis Road signs are missing at the intersection of Hollis and Dyer Road and at the Hollis end of Dyer Road. Ted will get a hold of Mike Souliere and have him take care of this.

2.      Discussion was held re wages from the Budget for the positions of Tax Collector, Tax Clerk and Treasurer; Selectmen looked at surveys from MMA and discussed this at length, it was discussed that the Treasurer’s current salary is $10,000 and the Selectmen feel this is adequate, for the Tax Clerk it was discussed to raise the number of hours the Town hall is open to 20 hours a week and pay the clerk $14,560 (14hr) with individual health insurance paid ½ by the Town and ½ by the employee. Tax Clerk hours was looked at 30 hours with a salary of $23,400 (15hr) and fully paid Health Insurance. Selectmen are going to discuss the number of hours with other towns and will look at this again next week.
