SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

August 7, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Ed LeBlanc, Angela Cushman, Jim Trask

ABSENT:

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:10

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:           

  1. Jim Roberts, Constable, expires August 7, 2006
  2. Jim Roberts, Code Enforcement Officer, expires August 7, 2006
  3. Jim Roberts, Building Inspector, expires August 7, 2006
  4. Michelle Boisjoly, Assessor, expires August 7, 2006

 

OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Keith Harris communicated to the Selectmen the Multi Purpose Field Committee. The members will include Keith Harris – Chair, Steve Morse – Little League Rep, Woody Brown – Citizen, Dave LePauloue – Little League Rep, Keith Stone – Recreation Committee Rep, Margaret Tarte – Citizen.

2.      Bids for the New Town Ballfield project were discussed by the Selectmen.  Motion by Ed LeBlanc to award project to Emery Excavation, 2nd by Jim Trask.  Passed 3/0.

3.      Selectmen discussed next steps with Keith Harris regarding the Multi Purpose Field Committee.  The Committee will give bi-weekly updates to the Selectmen.  Bills to be submitted to the Town for payment.  Motion by Ed LeBlanc to release $28,000 to the Multi Purpose Field Committee to start the work on the New Town Ballfields; 2nd by Jim Trask. Passed 3/0.  .

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Selectmen communicated that the Article “To see if the Town of Dayton will approve to draw from unappropriated surplus account to cover 2005-2006 legal expenses that exceeded amounts budgeted in contingent” with a requested amount of $23,396.13 was passed at tonight’s Special Town Meeting.

2.      Michelle Boisjoly, Assessor, asked the selectmen to determine the date real estate taxes will be due and communicated that the tax rate has been revised to $15.40.  Motion by Ed LeBlanc to set the date taxes are due for October 19, 2006 and recommended the tax rate to be $15.40; 2nd by Jim Trask. Passed 3/0. 

3.      The water was tested at the Town Hall after complaints of odor and staining.  The test results were acceptable.

3.      Proposal from Dearborn Construction for the Mast Road Ditching Project.

4.      Appointment papers for Jim Roberts to serve as Constable, Code Enforcement Officer, and Building Inspector.

5.      Appointment papers for Michelle Boisjoly to serve as Assessor.
