SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

July 31, 2006

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Ed LeBlanc, Angela Cushman, Jim Roberts, Jim Trask

ABSENT:  

OTHERS PRESENT: Mike Souiliere

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 20:00

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:           

OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Selectmen received an updated from Peter Schroeter, Smith Elliott Smith & Garmey. The lawyers are in the process of selecting a mediator and scheduling mediation.  Mediation is now a mandatory process under court rules.   

 NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Paul FitzPatrick has offered to put a fence up for the cemetery located in the new ballfield.

2.      Mike Souiliere mentioned an outfit from NH that pulls and grinds stumps for $2500.00 per acre.  Mike to get a contact name and number.  Jim Roberts also mentioned another outfit and will also get contact information.

3.      Special Town Meeting August 7th.  Jim Trask to moderate the meeting and Ed LeBlanc to present the information.

4.      Selectmen discussed the public hearing for the ballfields held tonight.  Selectmen have asked the group of individuals that showed up at the meeting to form a committee and notify the selectmen at the next Selectmen’s meeting, Aug. 7th.  Selectmen will meet with this group and decide next steps.  The Selectmen also want commitment from this committee to complete some fundraising.  The Selectmen communicated that they would be willing to commit town funds if a dedicated group was formed and fundraising occurred.

5.      Mast Road project bids were discussed by the Selectmen.  Dearborn Brothers will take care of traffic control.  Motion by Jim Trask to award project to Dearborn Brothers, 2nd by Ed LeBlanc.  Passed 2/0; 1 vote abstained.

 REMINDERS:       

1.      Special Town Meeting that will be held Monday, August 7th at 7 pm at the Town Office regarding the overages for the 2005-2006 budget year.

  Motion by Ed LeBlanc and seconded by Ted Poirier to adjourn at 20:30
