SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

Dec. 4, 2007

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Ed LeBlanc, Jim Roberts, Angela Cushman

ABSENT:  Jim Trask

OTHERS PRESENT:  Sheila Dube, Lisa Whitney

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

EXECUTIVE SESSION:  

The Selectmen went in to executive session at 19:50 pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A., section 405(6)(F) to discuss a poverty abatement.  Resident interested in poverty abatement will need to fill out a general assistance form.

PUBLIC FORUM:

  1.  

 

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Dan Cabral, York County Commissioner, provided an outline of Dayton’s County Tax Assessment.  Angela Cushman to schedule Dan Cabral to attend a Selectmen’s meeting.
  2. Town property on Hollis Rd. – Jim Roberts stated that David Ordway, Town Attorney, is still working on this issue.
  3. Sheila Dube provided an update on the school re-organization.  The group is still working on documenting a plan. 
  4. The Selectmen discussed briefly the proposed contract zoning ordinance discussions.  A decision will be made when all Selectmen are present.
  5. The Waste management contract expires in March 2008.  Kennie Blow, BBI, will be at the December 10th meeting at 7 pm.  The Selectmen discussed accepting bids for the waste management contract.  A bid proposal will need to be put together.  Jim Roberts will draft a bid proposal.
  6. Angela Cushman provided an updated on 2005 tax liens.  Six impending foreclosure notices were mailed 11/29/07.    

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. The Selectmen decided to have workshops – December 10th at 6pm to discuss Solid waste Contract and   Snow Plowing contract.
  2. A Building Committee Meeting will be set up on either a Tuesday/Wednesday night.  Angela to schedule a meeting.
  3. Rusty Keene trash clean up cleaned up demolition debris that someone had dumped on his property on behind Barker pond and hauled it to Maine Energy.
  4. Legal update provided by Ted Poirier.  The Selectmen were supposed to meet with Tim Murphy, attorney, on Monday, Dec. 3.  Because of the storm they rescheduled for December 10th , 4 pm.
