SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

May 7, 2007

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Angela Cushman, Ed LeBlanc, Jim Trask

ABSENT:  Jim Roberts

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:05

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. The Goodwins Mills Fire Department provided annual reporting to the Town for the Annual Report.  The Town received the Chief’s report, Profit & Loss Statements for Fire, Rescue and Employees. 

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Saco River Corridor is requesting asking for a $300 appropriation.  Ed LeBlanc made a motion to approve the $300 request; 2nd by Jim Trask.  Passed 2/1.
  2. The Selectmen are looking to participate in the July Residential Hazardous Waste Day in Saco.  Ted Poirier will follow up with Saco. 
  3. Dog Late Fees are a state mandate.  The late fee is $15.00 and will be assessed for any dog registrations after January 31st.
  4. Susan Bellerose, Tax Collector, provided monthly reporting on collected property and excise taxes.  Angela Cushman, Treasurer, provided monthly expense and revenue reporting.  The roads budget was discussed with the Selectmen.  By law, a Town is allowed to exceed the road budget by 15%.  With the Patriots Day storm the Town will probably exceed the budget. 
  5. Tires disposed at the Transfer Station are $5 each.  Jim Roberts to check to see if there is another place to dispose of tires at a lower cost.
