SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

April 2, 2007

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Angela Cushman, Jim Roberts, Ed LeBlanc

ABSENT:  Jim Trask

OTHERS PRESENT: Darrell Whitney, Sheila Dube, John Gay, Paul Poirier 

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00

EXECUTIVE SESSION:  

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:     

  1.  

PUBLIC FORUM:

  1. John Gay asked about disposing of paint cans. The Town participates in a regional disposal day.  The Selectmen will post when the next disposal day will be in the near future.  Darrell Whitney asked has Dayton ever thought about a recycling program like Saco.  The Selectmen communicated that a recycling program is expensive to a town.  Maybe in the future a regional recycling program with area towns.
  2. The Lyman Snowmobile club was in to submit an article for the Town report.  “We the Lyman snowmobile club would like to have the article put back on for this year’s town vote, with two changes:  1) $6.00 per sled and 2) for the 2007-2008 year”.  The Selectmen will discuss at a later date.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. York County Commissioner visit to Dayton will be scheduled for April 30th at 7 pm.  Jim Roberts to schedule.
  2. The Selectmen would like MacDonald Page audit firm to present the final audit report on April 23rd at 7 pm.  Angela Cushman to schedule with MacDonald Page.
  3. The Selectmen have been looking at updating the insurance coverage for the Town and the School.  Quotes have been obtained from two agencies.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. The Selectmen discussed the date of elections in June.  The date has been changed to Tuesday, June 12th   to align with State elections.
  2. Selectmen discussed having the office positions changed to hired instead of elected.  This proposal would need to be added to the town referendum. Selectmen to review wording for the referendum.
  3. Tax liens letters.  Angela to provide an update next week. 
  4. Angela provided information to the Selectmen regarding what a community gets for its SMRPC dues payment.
  5. Selectmen discussed the requirements from the Secretary of State to be in compliance for ADA guidelines.  The Selectmen will look at addressing the requirements for Dayton school before the June election.
