EXECUTIVE SESSION:

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

APPOINTMENTS:

  1.

PUBLIC FORUM:

  1. John Gay asked again about getting gravel needed on the shoulder between Woody Brown’s and John Gay’s houses.  Now that work is complete on the Hight Road, Mike Souliere will repair this area.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Selectmen will be making a decision on the general liability/crime coverage next week.  There are two proposals that will be reviewed by the Selectmen.
  2. Another status was given on the FEMA paperwork.  Mike Souliere has completed the estimate for finishing up the shouldering and tree removal as a result of the Patriot Day storm.  Mike needs to put together pricing for the Bickford Rd. culvert.  Two estimates need to be completed for the Bickford Rd.; one estimate for if fixed and one estimate to upgrade.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. At the recent elections all local ordinances were passed including the article related to hiring vs. elected positions.  Once the terms have expired the hiring process can begin.  The tax collector, town clerk and treasurer positions expire in 2009.  The Selectmen reviewed the status of the various boards & committees.  The Planning Board needs two members. Anyone interested, please contact the Town Office.
  2. A status on the FEMA paperwork relating to the Patriots Day Storm was provided by Mike Souliere and Jim Roberts.  At this time the Bickford culvert, tree removal, and any shouldering as a result of the storm would be covered by FEMA.  Grant paperwork could be submitted to the state for the Red Brook culvert.  Paperwork needs to be completed and sent to the state by October 2007.
  3. The Selectmen reviewed the outstanding lien report in the Annual Report.  Tax Collector and Treasurer to provide an updated status on outstanding liens next week.  Jim Trask to contact legal about next steps on collecting on outstanding accounts.
  4. Jim Roberts informed the Selectmen that we changed the recycling bin pickup from Monday to Friday.  Last week BBI picked up on Thursday and this weekend the recycling bin was overflowing.  Jim suggested either getting another bin or having two pickups during the week.  Jim is finding that non-residents are using the recycling bin.  Jim Roberts will call BBI to discuss possible solutions.  The Selectmen were leaning towards having two pickups; Friday and then Monday or Tuesday.  The recycling bins help reduce the curbside tonnage.
