SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                              

July 2, 2007

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Jim Trask, Jim Roberts, Angela Cushman, Ed LeBlanc, Mike Souliere

Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:06

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:

PUBLIC FORUM:

  1. John Gay asked again about getting gravel needed on the shoulder between Woody Brown’s and John Gay’s houses.  Now that work is complete on the Hight Road, Mike Souliere will repair this area next week.  John also asked about spraying along the roadsides for poison ivy.  Mike will be performing roadside cutting in the near future.

OLD BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. A Hazardous Waste Day will be held on July 28th, Saco Public Works from 8 am-12pm.
  2. The Dearborn Conditional Use Permit was re-visited by the Selectmen. As part of this permit an amount is to be held in escrow in anticipation of future repairs.  Selectmen discussed having the permits updated to have companies bond the impacted road.  Jim Roberts stated that this particular conditional use permit and the current Town ordinance do not contain the language for bonding.  The Selectmen will ask the Planning Board to review the Dearborn Conditional Use Permit and consider establishing permits for the other gravel pits.
  3. Mike Souliere will review Bickford Rd. Road damage has been reported.
  4. Angela Cushman asked the Selectmen to consider extending office hours prior to a holiday weekend.  Angela Cushman will look at the holiday schedule to determine a possible schedule for the Selectmen to review next week.
  5. Jim Trask asked about holding Selectmen meetings every other Monday opposite the Planning Board.  This arrangement will allow time for the Selectmen to attend Planning Board and other committee meetings.  Discussion was held and will be addressed again next week.  
  6. Jim Roberts asked why dump permits expire.  The Selectmen decided to remove the expiration date from the dump permits.
