OLD BUSINEES:

  1. New Municipal building. Jim Roberts provided an update to the Selectmen.  Outstanding item:  Ed LeBlanc to contact the school regarding cleaning out the section of the modular they are using for storage.  The Selectmen will then decide when to sell the small modular building.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Twelve Town Group.  Millie Tuttle provided an update to the Selectmen.  At the last meeting, holding a Hazardous Waste Day was discussed by the Twelve Town Group. Currently, the Town of Dayton participates in a Hazardous Waste Day program with Saco, Biddeford and OOB.  Another topic of discussion was the new rates for PSAP.  Millie Tuttle will research to see if Dayton will be impacted.  Also, the Maine Municipal Association is looking to build an addition to their building in Augusta.  As a result of the addition, dues would increase by 6% and health insurance would increase by 14%.  Voting on the addition will occur later this year.  The jail consolidation is occurring now and may result in a 3% increase in York County Taxes for towns.
  2. RSU update.  Millie Tuttle provided an update to the Selectmen.  Of all the public hearing meetings that were held, there was very little community input.  If the RSU passes in November, then a new school board will be elected in January.
  3. York County Shelter Programs requested the Town to appropriate an additional $650 for the current fiscal year.  Jim Trask made a motion to deny the request and appropriate $325 from contingency to support the York County Shelter Programs; 2nd by Ed LeBlanc.  Passed 3/0.
  4. Old municipal building and vault door.  Town did not receive any bids for either the building or vault.  Discussion was held about the possibly of moving the building to another location on the town property.  Jim Roberts will obtain pricing on moving.  The Selectmen decided to list the vault door in Uncle Henry’s and Maine Municipal Association as Best Offer.
