SELECTMEN MEETING MINUTES

 

DECEMBER 2, 2008

 

PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Jim Roberts, Ed Leblanc, Jim Trask, Mike Souliere

 

ABSENT:  Angela Cushman

 

OTHERS PRESENT:  Lisa Whitney, John Gay

 

Selectmen Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION:

           

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

APPOINTMENTS:

           

           

CORRESPONDENCE:

  1. CEO Report. Selectmen reviewed the CEO report.  Jim Trask asked about the DEP issue.  There was a complaint of resident dumping oil.  DEP is investigating.                

 

OLD BUSINEES:

  1. Bickford Rd. repair.  Repairs have been completed. 
  2. Trash pick up on Toad Island Rd.  Ed LeBlanc spoke with Al Cole.  Ed to contact BBI about the possibility of a different pick up.
  3. Fire Department Committee.  Jim Trask/Ted Poirier will represent the Selectmen and Dan Gay will represent the Budget Committee.  Ted to speak to Paul Poirier about his interest in the committee.
  4. RSU board elections.  Elections will occur soon.  Some discussions were held on paying the RSU Dayton board member.
  5. Multi-purpose room use.  Angela Cushman and Jim Roberts to draft a policy for the Selectmen review.
  6. Selectmen meetings.  Selectmen meetings will change back to Mondays starting December 8th.  Planning Board meetings will be held on Tuesday nights.  The Planning Board is looking for some more members.
  7. Banking.  Angela Cushman to schedule a meeting with Gorham Savings Bank.

 

NEW BUSINESS:    

  1. Hazardous Waste Days.  The Selectmen will be re-looking at the Town’s participation in the Hazardous Waste Days.
  2. Window in Tax Collection/Town Clerk office.  A resident questioned whether the windows in this office were big enough for egress.  Discussion was held by the Selectmen and the decision was made to not change any of the windows.  Selectmen felt the windows do provide sufficient exit access for employees.
  3. Holiday schedule.  The Selectmen agreed to close the office at noontime on Dec. 24th and the 31st.
  4. Barbara Dennett, recently deceased, has left property to the Town of Dayton for open space use.
