Dayton Planning Board

December 15, 2008

Members Present: Rick Shaw (Chair), Dick Hall, Remi Caron, Theresa Greeley-Payeur, Valerie Cole (Alt.)

Administrative:

New member Theresa Greeley-Payeur was introduced to the Board.

Dick Hall moved to accept the minutes from December 1, 2008. Remi Caron seconded, all voted in favor.

Old Business:

TOWN HALL: Members reviewed the concern expressed at the last meeting about the windows in the new Town Hall. It was noted that the Planning Board had made no motion regarding the windows, as there was no action that the Planning Board could take on this issue. The Planning Board can't demand more than is required by the Code.

RESIGNATION: Rick Shaw's term expires in December and he does not intend to remain on the Board. He explained the duties of the Chair regarding timekeeping, running the meetings and holding public hearings.

CHANGE IN MEETING DAY: Members reviewed the decision to meet on the first Tuesday of the month, starting in January. If necessary a second meeting will be held on the third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be January 6, 2009.

New Business:

ZONING ORDINANCE: Members received new copies of the Dayton Zoning Ordinance. The notebooks do not include the subdivision regulations.

FUTURE CONCERNS: Rick and Dick both noted that in the future the Board may face issues of wind power, possibly more cell towers, and gravel pits as well as water extraction, vernal pools, and aerial mapping. Members also briefly reviewed the Board's role in subdivision applications. The subdivision application was reviewed and new language suggested to resolve the ambiguity regarding of the number of units.

Dick Hall motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM, Remi Caron seconded and all voted in favor. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 7:00 PM.
