SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES
January 03, 2005
PRESENT: Ed LeBlanc, Keith Harris, Jim Trask Chris L’Heureux,
ABSENT: None
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Ted Poirier, Bill Harris, Wilma Harris, Skip Cushman, Bill Thompson,
Selectman Ed LeBlanc declared the meeting open at 19:00
~ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE
~APPOINTMENTS: Budget Committee Members
1. Barbara Petersen 2 years

3. Woody Brown 3 years
OLD BUSINESS:
1. The cover for the salt and sand storage for the Town’s people is now done. Ed LeBlanc stated that it looked great.
2. Ed LeBlanc talked with the Hollis Selectmen about the Dyer Road culvert. He states that at this time they do not want to fix it they want to post it for a tonnage so busses can go over it and they believe this will buy us time to get it fixed, Ed LeBlanc discussed with them that the Town of Dayton would just like to take care of the problem. Hollis Selectmen will get back to him.
3. Ed LeBlanc stated that the Assessor’s Hiring Panel has spoke to Michelle Boisjoly and has offered her the part time position, this was done after references were checked and they were all great. Michelle stated that she needs to call the State re getting her license renewed. She will get back to him tomorrow on her acceptance or not. If she accepts letters will go out to the other applicants.
4. Bill Thompson has gone over the MMA guidelines for a job description on the part of Assessor. He has given the Board of Selectmen his recommendations. He thought the MMA guidelines were great.
5. Ed LeBlanc has spoken to Barbara Petersen, and Dan Guay and both would like to be on the committee. Ed LeBlanc made a motion to appoint these 2 people to the Budget Committee, Barbara to fill in the vacant position left by Terry Bradishand expire in 2006 and Dan Guay to a 3 year tem. 2nd by Keith Harris, Passed 3/0. Ed will notify them to be sworn in.
6. Keith Harris made a motion to re- appoint Woody Brown back to the Budget Committee. 2nd by Ed LeBlanc. Passed 3/0, Chris will notify him to come in and be sworn in.
7. Jim Roberts has spoken to an inspector with the State on the Boiler License, he states that legislation has been passed and will be in effect by then end of this month to make Boilers like ours exempt from the Boiler License.
8. Ed LeBlanc has spoken with Blow Brothers Waste re the recycling bins, discussion was held on moving the cans to a more user friendly site for them. Ed will continue to work on it.
~NEW BUSINESS:
1. Bill Harris was in to discuss a workshop he went to on Variances. He discussed with the Selectmen about was to avoid all these variances and for the ones that do go thru come up with a no contest letter. A lengthily discussion was held on this. Jim Roberts will check with MMA and get guidelines for a no contest letter and find out if there is a fee structure for fines.
2. Wilma Harris complaining of 3 pot holes, one is in front of school driveway on Hight Road, one on Hollis Road by Paradis Residence, and one on Wild Flower Drive off Murch Road. Ed will notify Mike Souliere about this.
3. Wilma Harris also wanted the Selectmen to know that the CC Road turnaround is not being taken care of when she is using it.
4. Ed LeBlanc again asked the Board of Selectmen to come up names for the Building Committee to look into a New Town Hall.
5. Bill Thompson has passed in his Letter of Resignation from the Assessors Board. He did state that he will be willing to help the Board of Selectmen and the new Assessor if needed. Bill will turn his keys in at the end of the month.
