SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES
July 26, 2004
PRESENT: Ed LeBlanc, Keith Harris, Chris L’Heureux,
ABSENT: Jim Trask,
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, M, Souliere, T. Poirier, W. Harris, J, Harris, B. Thompson, Robert Penley (Trio)
Selectman Keith Harris declared the meeting open at 19:00

~APPOINTMENTS: NONE
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Mike says that Howard Trucking will be supplying the collars for the culvert on Hight road that needs to be extended at no cost to the Town. Mike will get them installed ASAP.
2. Mike stated that the tar that was falling apart by Jerry Paradis residence has been shimmed. It should last till we get to that road for repairs this fall.
3. Ed is still working with Maxine (our attorney) on the sale of the Town Garage. She is working on writing up the proposal now. Discussion was held on having a minimum bid. Motion by Keith Harris to have a minimum bid of $7,500.

~NEW BUSINESS:
1. Bob from Trio came in to demo the Budgetary Software for the Town. He gave a presentation and answered the questions that everyone had on the Accounting Software, Cash Receipting and Payroll Software. Bob stated that it would be approx 8 weeks from the time that a decision is made to purchase the software till it can be installed. Motion by Ed LeBlanc 2nd by Keith Harris to Purchase the Accounting, Cash Receipting, Payroll Software and 2 Cash Receipting printers. Passed 2/0 Chris will make notification tomorrow.
2. Assessors are in to meet with the selectmen re: the hiring of the Part Time Assessor. Wilma Harris wanted to start by expressing her concern re: monies not being approved for her Assessors School. She wants the Selectmen to know that she was very upset with them not approving the money. Bill Thompson expressed that he would like to see the new position hired ASAP. Jason Harris agreed. Assessors’ stipend was discussed and it was decided that they would be paid in quarters and can draw ½ the salary from now to December and then they will be paid by the quarter as the quarter ends.
3. Re Abatements Ed states that the Selectmen will be working on the 1st stages of the foreclosure process, he informed everyone that the 1st letter that was sent out was a friendly reminder to pay now the official foreclosure process will start for all those that were sent letters that didn’t reply to the friendly letter. Ed will contact our Attorney to have the next letter drafted.
4. Mike Souliere was told about a stop sign that was down and lying by the road on Gould Road and Route 35. He stated that he would get it and put it back in the ground.
