SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES

May 03, 2004

PRESENT: Ed LeBlanc, Jim Trask, Chris L’Heureux,

ABSENT: Keith Harris

OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Dana Robinson, Mark Mooers, Ted Poirier

~Selectman Ed LeBlanc declared the meeting open at 19:13

~ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE

~APPOINTMENTS: NONE

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Keith Harris is in attendance at the Ten Towns Meeting at the Waterboro Town Hall.

2. No bids were received for the culverts to be replaced on Hight Road.

3. No update on Dyer Road Culvert. Ed LeBlanc will call the Hollis Selectmen to get an update.

4. Jim Roberts talked to Pinkham and Grear and they were the ones that had put in Birch View Circle and they are looking for the Specs on that road to prove they meet town Specs. Mark Mooers from the Road Committee did go and inspect the road and believes there is a problem with a culvert collapsing or coming apart and should be fixed before accepting.

5. Ed LeBlanc will call around and check with blaster re getting an estimate on blasting the ledge on Hight Road before it is reclaimed and paved. Mark Mooers will mark areas he believes that needs to be blasted.

~NEW BUSINESS:

1. Status Questionnaire for the Tri County Waste Advisory was filled out and faxed back to Marcus, Clegg and Mistretta, P.A.

2. SMRPC survey for a Cooperative Paper Bid was received; Jim Trask will fill out and send in.

3. Gravel Pits operating without a permit, there are 2 (SDI and the Preston Pit) Ed LeBlanc will meet with the planning board to discuss.

4. Need to add a second local referendum question re going from 3 assessors to 1 part time Assessor.

5. RT 35 and RT 5 by the Town Garage and Town Dump has been posted for no parking due to request from the Sheriffs Department, and the Maine State Police, Jim Roberts did contact the Town Attorney and it is something they could do on an emergency basis for 14 day, Roads was posted on Friday, We need to hold a public hearing ASAP an amend our current Parking Ordinance to include these area’s now under an Emergency Ordinance. The Emergency Ordinance went into effect April 30, 2004 and is in effect till May 13, 2004

6. Jim Roberts brought to the Selectmens Attention that the floor near the back Door on the 2nd floor is rotten and needs to be repaired. Jim Roberts will look into getting it fixed and try to get some prices and let us know the extent of rot.
