SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES
April 26, 2004
PRESENT: Ed LeBlanc, Jim Trask, Keith Harris, Chris L’Heureux,
ABSENT:
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Mark Mooers, Mike Souliere,
~Selectman Ed LeBlanc declared the meeting open at 19:00
~ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE
~APPOINTMENTS: NONE
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Keith Harris has taken the paper work for the Town Report to the printers so they can start working on it, Ed LeBlanc has a couple of things to drop off this week to get it finished. They will also look at some cost options for us and get back to us on ways we may be able to save some money. Ed LeBlanc will also check on mailing cost and also with the Historical Society about stuffing flyers into the books.
2. Spec Sheets for culverts that need to be changed on Hight Road are out and some packets have been opened up we will open bids next meeting 5/3/04.
3. Ed LeBlanc will get a hold of Hollis Selectmen and find out where they are at reference the Dyer Road culvert replacement.
4. Jim Trask is still working with Maine Municipal on the Workers Comp Insurance, they haven’t gotten back to him yet but he will call this week and follow up.
5. Ed LeBlanc stated next Selectmen’s meeting the Board needs to do something with the tax abatement request and other delinquent taxpayers.
6. Mike Souliere states that Anderson corner trees and brush will be cleaned up as soon as the weather cooperates.
~NEW BUSINESS:
1. Motion by Jim Trask and 2nd by Ed LeBlanc for a public hearing will to be held on May 10, 2004 for the referendum question on making Birch View Circle a public road. Passed 2/0 Jim Roberts will post the bulletin board outside.
2. Jim Trask has gone over and meet with the new home owner on Hollis Road that citizens have had a concern with due to possible biker gang connection. Jim Trask states that he spoke with them and that they were nice and pleasant, he told them to come see us at selectmen’s meetings if they need anything.
3. Ten Towns Meeting next Monday night at Waterboro Town Hall 6:30 re the possible upcoming Tax Cap. Motion by Ed LeBlanc 2nd by Jim Trask that Keith Harris will attend and a request for one of the assessors to attend also.
4. Ed LeBlanc has stated that (Andy Howard) SDI pit still doesn’t have a conditional use permit yet and continue to operate. Jim Roberts has explained that from his understanding he has meet all the conditions of the Planning Board. But has no idea why they haven’t issued the permit. Ed LeBlanc will look into with the Planning Board.
5. P. J. Tangney our EMA Director has been called to Active Duty in Iraq, Motion by Jim Trask 2nd by Ed Leblanc to have Robert Lang (Lyman EMA Director ) to cover the town of Dayton while he is gone. Passed 2/0
