SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES                                                                                                               
May 15, 2006
PRESENT:  Ted Poirier, Ed Leblanc, Angela Cushman
ABSENT: None
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Roberts, Nancy Harriman, Mike Souiliere, Ben Harris
Selectman Ted Poirier declared the meeting open at 19:00
ANNOUNCEMENTS: NONE
APPOINTMENTS:  1. Valerie Cole, alt., planning board, 3 years
                                  
OLD BUSINESS:
1.      Discussion held on perpetual plaque.  The name of the plaque will be Outstanding Service Award. Anyone with 15+ years will be added to the plaque.  Jim Roberts will review town records to determine past individuals that should be added to the plaque.


~NEW BUSINESS:
1.      Reviewed Town Annual Report proof.  Ted Poirier asked whether the Road Committee should be listed in the report.  Dwight Anderson, Mark Mooers and Dana Robinson need to be added to the annual report.  These individuals need to be appointed.
2.      Mike Souiliere gave an update.  Corner of Gould/Buzzell Rd sign was snapped off and taken by someone.  Mike to replace sign.  Mike checked and cleared culverts today.  Tomorrow Mike will re-grade the corner on the Hollis Rd. across from the Anderson Rd.  
3.      Ted Poirier has received a couple of complaints regarding the Transfer station attendant not showing on time.  Ed LeBlanc will address the issue with BBI.  
4.      Nancy Harriman presented a Planning Committee vote on subdivision roads.  All  subdivision roads will have to be paved 32 feet wide (road 24 feet, shoulder 3 ft on each side and one side has to be an additional 2 ft).  These roads will automatically become town roads.  This change is a requirement that will have to be an ordinance change.
5.      Ben Harris reminded the selectmen that NEMS Training May 23rd
6.      Virginia Procter gave an update on the individual (Julie Petrin) running for the school board vacancy.  This individual holds a job in the SU7. As a result this individual can not serve on the school board at the same time.  Ballots have already been printed with this individual’s name.  After the election if this individual is voted by the town, the individual will need to submit in writing turning down.  The selectmen will have to declare a vacancy & notify the school board.  The school board can appoint an individual to serve until the next election (1 year).  This individual is aware of the issue.
