Proposed Ordinance Changes
The Dayton Planning Board is working on Ordinance changes to be voted on at the
June Town Meeting.  The Zoning Ordinance is being amended to be in compliance with the
Comprehensive Plan that was adopted Nov. 2, 2004.  There is also going to be a vote to change a section of the future land use map, to add a commercial zone along part of Routes 35 and 5.
The Residential Growth Ordinance has been reviewed by the Growth Ordinance Committee and will be voted on at the same time.  The major change to the Growth Ordinance is to exempt anyone over 55 years of age.
The Planning Board will be holding a public hearing on these changes sometime in April or May, but I have posted them on the Website for everyone to read and send comments before then. I will try linking the Proposed Zoning Ordinance, The Revised Map and the
Revised Growth Ordinance.  If you can not connect with any of the links, go to the Dayton Home Page  www.Dayton_me.gov.  Go to Town Government, and click on the Planning Board.  The Land Use Map and the comprehensive plan require Acrobat Reader which is a free download.
We are still working on the Zoning Ordinance, but this will give you a chance to start reading it and making comments before the Public Hearing.
